Interactive centrifuge configurator

This tool lets you filter our models according to the volume and type of your samples, from 0.2 ml microtubes to 1,000 ml flasks, butyrometer tubes or blood bags.

Once you define the required speed (RPM) or relative centrifugal force (RCF) and refrigeration requirements, the system automatically identifies the ideal combination of heads, adapters and reducers compatible with your containers.

You will finally receive a personalised quote with the exact technical configuration.

JP Selecta centrifugation technology

We work on constant innovation and on meeting the most demanding quality standards. Our laboratory centrifuges integrate high-end mechanical and electronic components to ensure precise, safe and efficient processes.

Brushless motors

Our centrifuges incorporate brushless induction motors that eliminate the need for maintenance and extend the equipment's service life. They reduce noise (50-60 dBA) and vibrations.

Interchangeable rotors

Angled and swinging (horizontal), complemented with adapters and reducers for various tube volumes. This interchangeable-head system, laser-marked for identification and autoclavable, makes a single centrifuge more versatile.

Safety systems

We comply with UNE-EN 61010.2.020. Our equipment includes electromagnetic chamber locking, opening lockout while the rotor is moving and automatic stop with light indicator in the event of imbalance.

Applications of our centrifuges by sector

JP Selecta centrifuges are designed to adapt to the technical demands of any environment.

  • Hospitals and clinical laboratories. Centrifuges for haematology, clinical biochemistry, serology processes and critical management in blood banks.

  • Universities and biomedical research. High-precision equipment essential for molecular biology, cell culture, sample preparation and PCR protocols.

  • Pharmaceutical industry and biotechnology. Quality control, drug development and microbiological analysis.

  • Industrial analysis laboratories. Technical support for food quality control, chemical analysis and industrial microbiology.

Why choose JP Selecta centrifuges

A JP Selecta laboratory centrifuge is designed under a philosophy of maximum durability and regulatory compliance, offering technical advantages that reduce operating costs without compromising safety.

Real and stable refrigeration (not just cooling)

Our refrigerated models, like the Centronic or Medifriger series, incorporate high-power CFC-free compressor units that guarantee real and constant refrigeration between -20 °C and +40 °C.

Tool-free, agile rotor change system

Our universal centrifuges allow the head (angled or swinging) to be swapped quickly and easily, with no complex tools required.

Complete range: 18 specialised models

With an in-house catalogue of 18 models, we offer the exact solution for every need. From the Cencom III microcentrifuge to the large Megafriger floor systems

Digital traceability for GMP and ISO compliance

For laboratories in regulated environments, our centrifuges with BLT (Touch screen) control offer total traceability to comply with current regulations. They enable programming of up to 10 different cycles and data export from each session.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the right laboratory centrifuge?

The choice depends on three critical factors: the required speed (RPM or RCF), the total volume and the type of containers (1.5 ml tubes, Falcon tubes, blood bags, etc.), and whether your samples are thermolabile (in which case a refrigerated centrifuge is essential). Our interactive configurator simplifies the selection.

How does the configurator work?

Our centrifuge configurator is an interactive tool where you select the sample type (blood, urine, cultures, etc.), the required capacity and speed. The system instantly shows the compatible models and helps you request a tailored quote.

What is RCF and how does it relate to RPM?

RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) indicates the motor's spin speed, while RCF (Relative Centrifugal Force), measured in × g, represents the real force applied to the sample. RCF is the universal value used in scientific protocols because it depends on both the speed and the radius of the rotor.

What is the difference between a universal centrifuge and a microcentrifuge?

The universal centrifuge is a versatile unit designed to process medium-to-large volumes with various rotor types and includes refrigeration options. The microcentrifuge is a compact, high-speed unit (up to 15,000 rpm) intended exclusively for small volumes in microtubes (0.2 - 2 ml), ideal for molecular biology applications.

Do JP Selecta centrifuges include rotors?

We offer a wide range of interchangeable rotors (angled and swinging) and adapters sold separately. Many of our heads are compatible across different models of the same line, which optimises the investment and allows you to adapt the equipment to new applications without replacing the centrifuge.

What types of rotors exist and when should each be used?

There are two main types: Angled rotors: Hold tubes at a fixed angle (25°-45°). Ideal for fast sedimentation at high speeds and usually used with closed tubes. Swinging rotors: Swing the buckets horizontally during operation, producing a more compact pellet and a cleaner supernatant. Recommended for clinical samples, blood components and density gradients.

How often should a laboratory centrifuge be calibrated?

To guarantee traceability and compliance with ISO/GMP standards, annual calibration of speed, time and temperature (in refrigerated models) is recommended. At JP Selecta we offer certified calibration with ENAC-traceable documentation.
