Welcome to the JP Selecta blog. In this first entry we want to tell you who we are, where we are based, what we manufacture and why more than 10,000 laboratories in 100 countries rely on our equipment every day.
JP Selecta is the European reference manufacturer of high-precision scientific instrumentation. We design and build in Spain more than 1,400 laboratory equipment units for the pharmaceutical, healthcare, food, chemical, academic and research sectors. We meet the most demanding international standards and offer our own technical service with response under 48 hours in mainland Spain.
A 79-year history of industrial innovation
Founded in 1947 in Barcelona, J.P. Selecta S.A. was born as a workshop specialising in scientific instruments. Almost eight decades later, we are a consolidated industrial group operating under three complementary brands:
JP Selecta — laboratory equipment
The group's main brand, specialising in autoclaves, ovens, centrifuges, thermostatic baths, shakers, rotary evaporators, refrigerated cabinets, haematology equipment and food analysis. 19 categories cover every analytical area of the modern laboratory.
COMECTA — official Heidolph distribution
Official Heidolph distributor in Spain, with in-house technical service for rotary evaporators, shakers, pumps and chilling equipment from the German brand. A turnkey solution for laboratories requiring Heidolph technology with local support.
Steril Food — autoclaves for the food industry
Brand specialising in industrial sterilisation autoclaves for canneries, artisanal food producers, food equipment manufacturers and catering. Models of 20 L (benchtop), 80 L (best-seller) and 150 L (large format), commercialised in Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland and the rest of the world.

From Abrera we design, manufacture, validate and ship every piece of equipment. Our own network of 12 official technical service centres in Spain guarantees ENAC-accredited calibration, original spare parts and technical response under 48 hours in mainland Spain.
