JP Selecta Laboratory Reactors

JP Selecta laboratory reactors provide a controlled environment for chemical and biochemical reactions requiring precise regulation of temperature, agitation and pressure. The range includes jacketed glass reactors and modular scalable systems from 250 ml to 20 litres. Reaction systems include central-shaft mechanical stirring with interchangeable impellers.

The operating principle relies on circulation of a thermostated fluid through the double wall (jacket) of the glass reactor, allowing heating or cooling of the reaction mixture with thermal uniformity and programmable temperature ramps. The reactor is manufactured in borosilicate glass 3.3 per ISO 3585 on borosilicate 3.3 properties, which guarantees thermal shock resistance (gradient >100 K) and resistance to mineral acids, dilute alkalis and most organic solvents.

The range includes cylindrical reactors from 250 ml to 20 L, modular systems with multi-neck lid for introduction of electrodes, temperature probes, addition tubes and reflux systems, and pressurized stainless steel reactors for high-pressure reactions. For solvent removal after reaction, see our rotary evaporators. For description of chemical operations and nomenclature, see IUPAC.

Applications cover organic synthesis in fine chemistry, controlled crystallization of pharmaceutical active ingredients, polymerization with temperature control, small-scale fermentation processes, reactive extraction and preparative scale-up testing. Operation under Good Manufacturing Practices follows the ICH Q7 guideline on GMP for active pharmaceutical ingredients, the quality risk management described in ICH Q9(R1)_Guideline_Step4_2022_1219.pdf) and the pharmaceutical quality system ICH Q10.

Regarding regulatory compliance in pressurized applications, stainless steel reactors or reaction autoclaves are designed per the ASME BPVC Section VIII Division 1 code on pressure vessel construction, or the alternative Division 2). See the main ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code portal for the current edition.

Manufactured in Abrera under triple certification ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 13485:2018, JP Selecta reactors are delivered with certified borosilicate glass, adjustable mechanical support, official technical service and guaranteed supply of replacement glassware.
