Immersion Thermostats

JP Selecta immersion thermostats regulate external bath temperature with ±0.01 °C precision, providing highly stable thermostatization for instrument calibration, viscosity testing, controlled enzymatic reactions and industrial processes requiring maximum thermal reproducibility. The operating principle combines a shielded electric heater, a refrigeration system (in compressor models), a high-precision Pt100 probe and a digital PID controller with auto-tuning. Safety and precision requirements for circulators and baths are standardized in DIN 12876:2025, and the interface for adjustable contact thermometers in DIN 12878. Probe traceability is performed against the International Temperature Scale ITS-90 defined by NIST.

The range includes non-refrigerated immersion thermostats for operation from ambient +5 °C to 200 °C, refrigerated immersion thermostats extending the range from -25 °C to +150 °C, and circulation models with external pump for connection to baths or remote systems. The circulation pump guarantees ±0.01 °C uniformity throughout the bath volume.

Applications cover calibration of thermometers, Pt100 probes and thermocouples in accredited laboratories, viscosity testing at defined temperature (combine with our viscometers), enzymatic reactions in clinical biochemistry and research, sample thermostatization in spectroscopy and long-term pharmaceutical stability testing. Digital contact measurement follows the ASTM E2877 guidance.

Regarding regulatory compliance, JP Selecta thermostats meet the general electrical safety requirements of IEC 61010-1 and the particular requirements for heating equipment in IEC 61010-2-010.
