JP Selecta vacuum pumps for filtration, evaporation, drying and dosing: water recirculation with 5–40 mbar vacuum and closed-loop circuit, peristaltic pumps with adjustable flow up to 1500 ml/min, and rotary vane pumps for high vacuum. Compliant with ISO 21360-1/-2 and triple ISO certification in Abrera.

JP Selecta laboratory vacuum pumps

JP Selecta laboratory vacuum pumps generate the vacuum required for critical processes such as filtration, evaporation, drying, degassing and reduced-pressure distillation. The range includes powerful rotary vane pumps, water recirculation vacuum pumps with vacuum levels between 5 and 40 mbar, and benchtop peristaltic pumps for precise fluid dosing with no contact between the liquid and the pump mechanism. Manufactured under triple ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 13485 certification in Abrera, they deliver reliability, compliance with international standards and strong technical service and spare-parts backing.

Types of vacuum pumps in our catalogue

Our catalogue covers the key technologies for any pressure-reduction and fluid-dosing requirement in chemical and biological laboratory environments.

Water recirculation vacuum pump

Designed to limit mains water consumption through a 10-litre closed-loop circuit.

  • Operation: An internal centrifugal pump drives water through two vacuum aspirators to generate suction.
  • Performance: Two independent inlets each deliver a suction flow of 10 litres/minute.
  • Vacuum level: Reaches between 5 and 40 mbar depending on water temperature.
  • Materials: Interior built in stainless steel and resistant polypropylene.
  • Applications: Vapour extraction and gentle evaporation. Can be paired with a neutralising unit ("Scrubber") to treat acidic gases.

Peristaltic pumps

High-precision fluid dosing and transfer equipment with electronic digital control.

  • Models: "Percom N-M II" for continuous flow regulation, and "Peristaltic PR-2004" for programmable dosing (from 10 ml to 10 litres).
  • Adaptability: Multi-adapter head for silicone tubing from 4 to 12 mm outer diameter.
  • Performance: Adjustable flow rates up to 1500 ml/min or higher, reversible and vibration-free.
  • Applications: Peristaltic pumps are essential as auxiliary dosing pumps in laboratory reactor systems. For solvent evaporation with assisted vacuum, see our rotary evaporators.

Operating principle by pump type

Understanding the vacuum and pumping mechanism is essential for process validation. JP Selecta equipment meets the measurement standards of ISO 21360-1 and ISO 21360-2, and supports the integration of calibratable vacuum gauges (reference NIST Vacuum Gauges) per ISO 27893:

  • Water recirculation pump: Venturi-effect principle in a closed loop; high-velocity water flow through a constriction creates a pressure drop that draws air out of the system.
  • Peristaltic pump: Compression of a flexible tube by rotating rollers continuously displaces the fluid, isolating the sample from the pump mechanism.

Why choose JP Selecta vacuum pumps

When you choose a JP Selecta vacuum pump you rely on a European manufacturer with triple ISO certification and direct technical service. The result is robustness, traceability and immediate support.

Oil-free alternatives in recirculation pumps

Unlike rotary vane pumps (which we also offer for high vacuum), JP Selecta water recirculation pumps generate vacuum without requiring sealing oil. This is ideal where you want to minimise routine lubricant-change maintenance or you work with gases that would rapidly degrade the oil, eliminating the risk of oily-vapour contamination in the sample.

Fluid in contact with the tube only — maximum chemical compatibility

In our peristaltic pumps, the pumped fluid never contacts the rotor or pump mechanism, flowing only through the silicone tube. This prevents cross-contamination, protects the pump from acids or aggressive solvents and enables fast sterilisation by replacing only the flexible tube.

Precise instrumentation, traceable calibration and guaranteed spare parts

Our equipment integrates analogue vacuum gauges or digital speed indicators. We also guarantee broad spare-parts stock (special oils, high-pressure tubing, standard silicone tubing and replacement gauges), securing the long-term continuity of your laboratory vacuum pump.

What is the difference between a water recirculation pump and a PTFE diaphragm pump, and when should I use each?

Water recirculation pumps generate vacuum via the Venturi effect (between 5 and 40 mbar), are eco-friendly because the water is reused and handle condensable vapours well, making them ideal for filtration or gentle concentration. Rotary vane pumps use sealing oil to reach deep vacuum levels (down to 0.006 mbar), so they are essential for freeze-drying, extreme drying or degassing.

What vacuum level do I need for my application (rotary evaporation, filtration, vacuum drying)?

For routine processes such as vacuum filtration or desiccators, moderate vacuum (10 to 40 mbar, typical of water recirculation pumps) is usually enough. However, for sublimation, freeze-drying or evaporation at very low temperatures, a laboratory rotary vane vacuum pump capable of dropping below 0.1 mbar is required.

Which type of pump tubing should I choose for my peristaltic pump based on the fluid being transferred?

Our equipment is adapted for standard silicone tubing (available in several thicknesses). Silicone offers excellent mechanical malleability and high purity for dosing in biological and non-corrosive chemical laboratories. For strong organic solvents, the specific chemical resistance table for silicone should be consulted.

Can the water recirculation pump be used with organic solvents or acids, or does it contaminate the reservoir water?

Yes, aspirated vapours unavoidably mix with the 10 litres of water in the tank. Although the interior is built in stainless steel and resistant polypropylene, the "Scrubber" extraction and neutralisation unit should be attached to protect the pump from strong acids. We also recommend periodically replacing the water through the built-in drain valve to avoid chemical-contaminant build-up.
